In 1983, Larenas Bridal & Formal Wear opened for business. Since then, many changes have taken place with the business as well as fashions.

Larenas provides stylish products and great service at a reasonable price. Customers travel from areas such as Cumberland, MD, Bedford, Johnstown, Pittsburgh, PA and of course Somerset County because of their reputation for friendly service and a nice selection.

Shopping for formal wear has changed with the Internet playing a big part in the buying decision. Today’s shoppers are well informed. They often know the gown they want, the color and the price they are willing to pay. While browsing online can help with narrowing down choices, purchasing should definitely be done in person. A bridesmaid or someone going to the prom might see a gown online that she likes and saves it to her phone to find a like style. Upon order placement, a customer is professionally measured and encouraged to try on a gown to aid in style and size selection.  Buying online may seem like a bargain until you are shipped a damaged or incorrectly sized dress with outrageous handling fees, a poor quality imitation or knock off of the design you wanted. Click here for more info on counterfeit gowns. Lastly you don’t have to worry if you will receive the gown late.

Owner Marcy McVicker personally selects all in store styles and ONLY buys from reputable designers. Larenas is an authorized retailer of any current styles in the store.

All ordered viewed on our website are subject to availability. Many styles are showcased in our store, but NOT all.

Tuxedo and suit rentals are a specialty at this local shop. Guys come back year after year when renting a tux for the prom or for choosing their own wedding tux after being in a friend’s wedding here. The fit is important to Larenas and it shows.

Larenas encourages you to shop local and wants to do the same. If you shop at Larenas, please let us know your business or professional services so that we can support those that support us.
